Infinitely Intertwined

Terracotta blended with found clay, found sticks and twigs, sculpted twigs, second hand and found yarn, wood, prints of graphite drawings.
A book I read drew me to explore my relationship with nature. I had never thought to call it that before, but it is a relationship, and one we can all learn to foster. We are growing lonely for the natural world we used to be so intertwined with.
This relationship is a broken one. We do not treat the planet that birthed us with the same respect with which it has fostered our life. However, like any relationship, it can be salvaged. It only calls for your attention.
Our natural world is fragmented, just like we often feel. We are not so different. Just as we can pick up the many pieces of ourselves to feel whole again, we can do the same with our beloved environment. Carefully sewing and weaving together the damaged parts, creates a whole, making us feel more whole because of it.
Connection is healing. We are all infinitely intertwined.
