Katie Sieker is a ceramic and mixed media sculptor from Wenham, Massachusetts. Earning her Bachelor in Fine Arts in Ceramics in Boulder,  she remains in Colorado,  exploring domestic spaces within the fragile, yet persistent material of clay.  Her work investigates the “in-between”: the comfort of  the interior mind space and the external world. By translating nostalgic spaces and artifacts of life into metaphors for memory and connectivity, her large-scale installations embrace the viewer with a sense of home.

The past feels ever present, and Sieker's work explores the way  it shapes us. She looks to memory, childhood photos, and used items to charge and inspire her images. Memorializing the places and events that linger within, as well as attempting to grasp those that have been forgotten.  Sieker works to commemorate that which is lost with time, bringing value to the ephemeral.
